Govardhan Puja

A festival honoring nature and the victory of Lord Krishna over Indra's pride. Known as Annakoot.

People create hill symbols from cow dung, worship them, and offer 56 varieties of food (Chappan Bhog).

Lord Krishna persuaded the people of Braj to worship Nature (Govardhan hill) instead of Lord Indra.

To protect villagers from Indra's torrential rain, Krishna lifted the Govardhan hill on his finger.
